Monel K500 is a precipitation-hardenable nickel‑copper alloy that combines the excellent corrosion resistance of Monel 400 with significantly higher strength and hardness through the addition of aluminum and titaniumIl offre environ trois fois la résistance au rendement et deux fois la résistance à la traction du Monel 400, tout en conservant une bonne ductilité et ténacité à des températures cryogéniques allant jusqu'à 593°C.L'alliage présente également une forte résistance à la corrosion de l'eau de mer, fissuration par corrosion par contrainte et fragilité de l'hydrogène.
